- First there were Princess, Lucy and Willyum, who came from England eight summers ago with their doggy chums Buster and Tiffany and their people, Bigmum and Littlemum. Then came the first feral. Kitling a red and white, clever and cuddly tom. Word spread among the local cat community that there was a new cat cantina and soon many more came calling. Florence, Impay, Precious, Chloe, Chester, Mummy Cat and Sakis were among the first wave of ‘outsidey cats’. Oscar the Wild, Emily the Strange, Badger and Sparkle, chose to join the ‘insidey cats’ in domesticity. Over the years the dogs, and Willyum and Lucy passed away. Many cats came and went, some even sneaking in to have their babies safely and many stayed. Masie, who was dumped in the yard as a puppy, joined the family which now comprises of around 15 insidey and innumerable outsidey cats. It is worth noting that Greek cats are only said to have seven lives, and here, in this far away village, with abundant neglect and cruelty, and no vet, a five year life-span is considered a good age for a cat. Whether the cat lives for a month, a year, or many more, if they have chosen to live in this tribe, they will know only love and care.
